About Me

Unleashing the Paw-tential

I have always loved and owned dogs, and particularly dogs that require breed specific grooming like Westhighland White Terriers, Cairn Terriers and Schnauzers. From a young age, I remember playing with my grannies dogs and knowing that I wanted to work with dogs.

I currently have 2 dogs, Sadie and Lexee. They are 4 year old Cairn Terrier sisters who are funny, weird and always ready for fun. Lexee loves to play with the ball and run around while Sadie loved to be around people. However for all of Sadie's sociability she suffers from anxiety which can impact her day to day life. Watching Sadie struggle has become an inspiration for me to understand her better, help her in her life and ultimately help all dogs who want to live a happy and fulfilled life.

In the past year I have completed a Diploma in Canine Behaviour and Training with the DSPCA, a Canine First Responder Certificate and have done numerous courses with IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Training). However, grooming is where my real interest lies. In September 2020 I completed the iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management, studying with Cathy Bruen in Canine Creations. While part of the course, I groomed over 50 dogs across 30 different dog breeds which gave me an excellent understand of the different breeds, requirements for a groom, how to manage different dogs and specifically, specialised grooming techniques such as hang stripping.

I believe in a positive approach when handling dogs, whether its in a grooming studio, in a training class or out on a walk. ​
